Going to college

How many months more to go and I would be in college already. But until now, I am still confused of what course I would really take up. Of course, I would really miss my high school days and as we all know, high school is different from college. As a college freshman, again you must adjust to the school, to the environment and to your classmates too but that's okay since you would get used to that as days passed by. My cousins and friends often reminded me to decide on my course since it would take two months more and definitely, I would graduate from high schoool already. But still now, I am still undecided. I have several choices and my mother has another choice of what course I would take too.
But if I were to ask, I have several choices. First of all, I wanted to take up BS Biology as a preparatory course for medicine since I really wanted to become a doctor for this is really one of my ambititions since I was small but since money is a hindrance, it is possible that I cannot pursue with medicine which I really like and maybe plainy take-up BS biology. Second, taking up business management is another option for me. I wanted also to take up this course too just like my aunt and working in a company is quite nice too. But my mother wants me to take up nursing. I really don't like this course because of the pressure and stress but just like other people, we need to be practical also. Nursing, nowadays, is in demand abroad and of course, you would earn dollars if you would work abroad and if converted here in the Philippines into peso would mean a lot of money. But, of course, I really don't like nursing either. My father always reminds me that I should take-up a course that I want and not because I was forced to take up that course. As I was thinking, yes it is right that if you would took up that course, its because you like it and not because you are forced to take it. Just like him, he took up enginneering since my grandparents forced him to take it but the course that he likes to take-up really is accountancy. Until now, he still regreted of what he took up and he is not happy with his job. That's why he always reminds me to decide well on what course to take-up.
But of course, for now, I need to give priorities first on my studies and at the same time decide and think well on what course to take up. We must pray to God too so that we can graduate from high school and proceed to college this coming June. And of course, you must listen to the advices of your parents too and not only your own decisions since parents know what is best for their children.

Your father is right, there's no point in being practical now if you're only going to regret it years later in your life.

Besides, the demand for nurses abroad is almost at its peak. European countries have already placed controls to limit the entry of foreign health care workers. My younger sister who's already in her 3rd year of nursing was told by their professors that they could be the last batch of nurses that would be freely accepted into foreign countries, the last batch to fill the positions to maximum.

Think more and think even more on what your interests and passions are, and go for the courses that would serve those interests and passions. Making a living out of it may be difficult, but so as everything else, but remember "Money is not the problem, money is the solution to the problem."

As long you like and love what you're doing, making a living out of it would come easily.
